In the Acts 1 passage I see the disciples asking a question that dose not get an answer because it is none of their concern and then gazing into the skies. Yet they are given a promise of the Holy Spirit and a mission to witness. Focus on what you can do and not on speculation
My favorite title for this passage is...Dont Just Stand There. I think of going to an airport, just to watch planes taking off, but never getting in one. Too often that is what we Christians do. God was saying....dont just stand there, do something. Going to church on Sunday, but never getting involved in the ministry..dont just stand there.
